Our Cottage
is located in West Iceland with a view over Lake Eiðisvatn,
the Hvalfjörður and the spectacular mountains around the fjord.
Behind the small village of Melahverfi, which is signposted on the ringroad.
Akranes is around 15 minutes away.
Reykjavík is around 45 minutes away.
In summer it is a good place to watch the birds wildlife and the midnight sun.
And in autumn and winter, this is also a very good place to watch the Northern Lights.
Also you will see the horses beneath.
The large patio with panoramic view also invites you to linger.
You can park your car on our property directly in front of the parking sign for guests.
The path on the left side leads past our house, directly to the Cottage.

Majestic mountains, waterfalls, and the quiet grandeur of a fjord that tells a story.

Once a strategic base during World War II and (once) home to the whales that gave it
its name, this fjord exudes one thing above all else today: deep, untouched tranquility.
Hvalfjörður isn't a place for the frantic.
It's a place for nature lovers, history buffs, hikers, and anyone looking to unwind.
